Combien de département français portent le nom d'une rivière où d'un fleuve? 66 Départements au total comportent, dans leur nomenclature, le nom d'une rivière ou d'un fleuve de France.
En voici la liste exhaustive, il faut noter qu'il est possible de les catégoriser en 3 groupes : ceux dont le nom est directement issu d'un fleuve ou d'une rivière (Marne, Ain, ...), ceux dont le nom comporte deux noms de fleuves ou de rivières juxtaposés (Seine-et-Marne, Lot-et-Garonne, ...) et enfin, ceux aux noms desquels un adjectif a été apposé (Haute-Garonne, Loire-Atlantique, ...). Si on pinaille, on pourra constituer un groupe avec les Bouches-du-Rhône, puisque ce département ne rentre dans aucune catégorie pré-citée.
